Discover the loveliest corners of Obervinschgau (Upper Venosta Valley)
Off you go
Our Hotel Zum Mohren is centrally located in the small village of Reschen, gently nestling between mountain pastures and pine forests. Here at an altitude of 1,500 metres, an unspoiled natural paradise opens up for your activities and a cultural landscape with a rich history.
Our 4-star hotel at the northern end of Lake Reschen is the ideal starting point to discover the Reschen Pass holiday region at the border triangle between Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Here you can look forward to high alpine scenery with small localities and the two natural tributary valleys Rojen and Langtaufers, the natural Lake Haider and the artificial reservoir Lake Reschen.
You can easily reach Lake Reschen on foot. In the summer it’s a popular location for sailing, kite surfing and fishing; in winter, for ice-skating and snowkiting. Its banks are an inviting place to take a gentle stroll the whole year round. The church spire in the lake is the landmark of Obervinschgau (Upper Venosta Valley) and definitely worth a visit. It bears witness to the sad events around the year 1950 when, during the fascist period and without taking into account the opinions of the local population, the lake was artificially created for the purposes of generating electricity.
Around our hotel at the Reschen Pass you will find one thing above all: originality. You can see this when hiking and biking or skiing and snowshoe walking in this sunny region. A visit to the numerous churches, monasteries and museums as well as the fêtes, traditions and events that take place along the famous Roman imperial road Via Claudia Augusta will bring you closer to the region and its people.
